Another well done rag by piano teacher Marcella Henry, the fourth of the five she wrote all being featured in this series. She worked in Axel Christensen's piano teaching schools based in Chicago and was quite a good composer, publishing many of her works through his Ragtime Review magazine. Here is a link to the October 1917 edition in which this original score appears at pages 9-10: http://www.ragtimepiano.ca/images/vol3no10.pdf I've reproduced the original score but changed the formatting from a condensed two pages out to three pages by eliminating the D.C. and the D.S. page jumps. Corrected the composer's name from "Marcello" to Marcella. Magazine and original score source was from Ted Tjaden's http://ragtimepiano.ca Not to be confused with other compositions titled "Broadway Rag" by James Scott, W.C. Polla or Eva Nieman. |
